Information for schools and colleges
The Digizen cyberbullying competition is open to students aged between 14 and 19, submitting entries through their academic institution, or in the case of home schooled children, by their parent or guardian. Entries will be judged in the following age brackets:
- 14 – 16
- 17 – 19
Four prizes will be awarded in each category.
We are looking for original content created by young people (under 20) that addresses the problems of cyberbullying constructively and imaginatively.
Entries must be accessible online, ie, can be hosted on a school server, website or on a public web service (such as Bebo, Myspace, Blogger) that is accessible without a username or password. For information about the range of social networking services available, and ideas on how best to use them within an educational setting, you can see our section on social network services.
Entries can be individual or collaborative – we will be looking in particular for entries which will engage and catch the imagination of other young people.
Entries can include all forms of multimedia – film, photographs, drawings, animation, writing, and we welcome a wide range of entry types – for example, a filmed debate that others are invited to answer; a blog which collects and comments on resources, news stories, interviews, comics, practical guides or information. You can view a selection of ideas for possible entries in our competition resources section, as well as finding out how best to get your entries online.
Entries will be accepted between 25 September 2007 to 31 January 2008, with of winning entries announced on 13 February 2008.
Winning entrants will be awarded video iPods and will be showcased on site. Winners and their schools will also be able to use the Digizen Winner widget on their web sites.
We can only accept submissions via the official application form.
